SCHEPIS MUSEUM

Full of contemporary art, the Schepis Museum is on Main Street in historic Columbia, and it brings new life to its historic setting. Not only does it showcase the finest cultural art in the area, but it's also a fantastic venue for events such as weddings, meetings, or class/family reunions!

LA ART & FOLK FESTIVAL

An annual festival held every October in Columbia, the LA Art & Folk Festival is the largest festival in Caldwell Parish! Enjoy live music, authentic cuisine, vintage vehicles, a petting zoo, a vast array of vendors, and so much more! Bring the kids too, they'll have a blast!

COLUMBIA LIONS CLUB RODEO PARADE

Caldwell Parish has enjoyed the Rodeo Parade every May for over 70 years! Held in May every year, the parade brings its world famous hotdogs and tons of fun for the whole family.

BEOUF WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

Boeuf Wildlife Management Area provides a wide range of recreation opportunities for visitors. Covering 51,000 acres, Boeuf Wildlife Management Area offers boating, hunting, fishing, camping, and various wildlife-viewing activities. The area is home to a variety of birds, aquatic species, and wildlife. Beouf is the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts.

OUACHITA RIVER

The Ouachita River is a major recreation feature in Caldwell Parish. Boating, canoeing, and kayaking are popular activities on the river, while fishermen can catch bass, catfish and bream in its waters. There are also numerous recreation areas along the river, providing plenty of opportunities for camping and picnicking. Additionally, the area is home to several wildlife refuges that offer bird watching and wildlife viewing activities.

DAVIS LAKE

This 147 square acre lake is situated just 9 miles from Clarks in Caldwell Parish. A variety of fish can be found here, including largemouth bass. The chance of getting a bite on the line is very high here, so bait casting, fly fishing, and spinning are all encouraged.

CHARLES ALLEN OUACHITA RIVER NATURE PRESERVE

Located within the Ouachita Hills region of the state, it is considered one of the most ecologically and botanically significant preserves in the state of Louisiana. The 105 acres of land consists of diverse hardwood, mixed hardwood-loblolly, and bottomland hardwood forest types. The preserve has several trails that guide visitors through these forest types. The trees along the trails are labelled and help visitors appreciate the rich floral diversity of the area. Currently, the preserve is used by locals to learn about ecosystems that they live right next to, thereby encouraging and inculcating the practice of place-based education.

RIVERTON LAKE

Riverton is a 13-acre compound located in northeast Caldwell Parish that provides the ultimate  recreation spot. Riverton features 18 RV sites with full hookup capability, 30 amps of electricity and 16 pull-through sites as well as full service bathroom, restroom, shower and laundry facilities. The lake is home to a variety of aquatic species and wildlife. Visitors can take part in the numerous recreational activities available at Riverton Lake, such as camping, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, hiking and fishing.

HORSESHOE LAKE

Horseshoe Lake is an acre of water located just 19 miles from Richwood in Caldwell Parish. Fishing is a popular activity available to visitors here. Boating and water enthusiasts are sure to enjoy their time at the lake. The clear, deep lakes combine with its major streams, providing excellent fishing for bass, crappie, catfish, and white perch.

LONG LAKE

Just 8 miles from Clarks in Caldwell Parish, Long Lake is a thin, horseshoe shaped body of water right off of the Ouachita river. It is a fisherman's paradise since a variety of species live here, including bowfin, bream, bluegill, sunfish, and largemouth bass. Swimming and fishing are popular activities here.
